So It's Easter...

Let's get started with a clear message. This is Easter. Easter marks the miracle that is the rising of Jesus after he died for our sins. The wages of sin is death... We earned that death. and Jesus paid it in full. Do not take that lightly... Not even for a moment. The sins that you commit, that I commit, that we all commit, were forgiven because the son of God gave his Earthly life and died on the cross. Tortured, persecuted and killed, to pay our debt. Humbling, saddening, and filled with great joy that debt was paid for me...
So after you hopefully attend church in the morning and you hunt a few eggs for whatever reason you do so, sooner or later... if you're some the south, you're going to eat an Easter dinner... or two. In my household this is simply nothing short of a feast. There's food everywhere in abundance, from the farm, and we will all probably eat too much and have lunch leftovers for the next day!
What changes about this scene in the troubling days ahead? When the store shelves are bare? When utilities are unreliable, or non-present? Will we have food stores when it's time to celebrate? When it's time to sustain? I can hunt, I can gather, I can fish, I can forage, I am all too aware of the value of these skills. I'm also aware that it was frosting last week and snowing a few weeks ago. I know the fish are moving shallow... I know that game animals are are focusing on giving birth and reproducing. I know that plants are just barely peaking out for the spring... So I also know the value of Food Stores.
