About the event
In this hands on workshop we will focus on a dish that helped our grandparents and great grandparents fill bellies and tables when southeastern KY was a hard scratch lifestyle. This homesteading inspired staple calls for ingredients off the farm, and a bit of care to create a warm, inviting cornbread that will turn any plate into a meal! Each student will receive a new 8" cast iron skillet, just like their grandmother's, and a gourmet, organic cornbread mix that our partners at Mountain Holler Foods have worked with us to provide to make those hot and fresh pones even after a busy work week!
